ANZAC Parade Walk Canberra

One of the most memorable experiences you can have in Canberra is the iconic parade walk at ANZAC that leads up to the Australian War Memorial. This red gravel path of 2.5 km will take you to the 11 war memorials that Australia and New Zealand took part in as allies as it is now dedicated to the people of both the countries who fought and died in the line of war. This visually compelling landmark was created by using crushed Canberra house bricks, in order to recreate the similar crunch sound made by the boots of soldiers during a parade.

You can start the parade walk from the Lake Burley Griffin side and take in the sights and sounds of the natural scenery that adorns the entire walkway. Fact: the dark eucalyptus walls of Anzac have been created using Victorian blue gum. If you are a patriotic countryman and would like to pay homage to the heroes who have made the country what it is today, then mark your calendar for this week and visit one of Canberra’s most renowned historical sites. Awaken the Patriot inside of you and truly feel the love for your country like you have never felt before.
