Australian War Memorial Canberra

This is a tourist attraction spot that comes under one of the few “must visit places in Canberra”. The Australian War Memorial pays homage to all the lives lost by the soldiers who died fighting for the country. It is an insightful place with many things to learn as it combines the facilities of a world-class museum and an extensive archive to salute those who laid out their lives in war. The mission of this museum is to make the Australians remember the brave hearts and the show how the war affected the overall Australian society. The memorial comprises of three sub- programs: public programs, national collection, and corporate services.

The memorial plays host to many exciting events throughout the year, ranging from art discussions to story time for kids. You can take a free guided tour to know about the artefacts and other items that have been put on display, read private letters of soldiers to their loved ones, and get a complete wartime experience due to the bomb blast and gunshot sound effects that make the museum come alive. Admission to the memorial is free, and it is open from 10 AM to 5 PM daily.
