16th and 17th July 2016: Bastille Day, also known as the French National Day, is celebrated every year on 14th July. This day serves to commemorate the Storming of the Bastille on 14th July 1789 which had actually sparked the French Revolution. This event, to be held on 16th July (Saturday) and 17th July (Sunday), will have a wide range of programs and conferences related to French history and culture along with lots of other workshops, plays, music performances and exhibitions on a wide variety of topics. Entry is free, so anyone is free to join in although some of the activities do require you to book a ticket.
