What to try if new to Pakistani food?

New to Pakistani food? Well then here are some recommendations from us to try as part of your authentic Pakistani food hunt. Next time if you get a chance be sure to try the below.

Qatlama (fried layered bread), Hareesa (boiled wheat mixed with meat, more like a soup), Kheeri Kabab, Qeemay Ka Naan (again bread), Maghaz Masala (beef or lamb brain dish), bong (a beef stew quite similar to Nihari dish), Hunter Beef (a version of corned beef), Khadi Kabab (a similar to tandoor version of lamb meat roasted on coal and filled with rice and papaya sauce).

There’s no real one dense place, there are many. But if you were to really pick a place, we would say Footscray, Carlton, and Coburg to start with. But as mentioned, there are many more across the east and northern suburbs of Melbourne where you can find awesome Pakistani restaurants and cafes.
