The Richmond Food Truck Park Melbourne

Have you heard of the Richmond Food Truck Park? It is located on 110 Church Street, Richmond and was initially meant to be there from 13th May 2015 till 31st May 2015. But the outstanding demand and resounding success of this park led to an extension and the Food Truck Park stayed there for an additional couple of weeks till 14th June 2015.

The food trucks that are a part of this park serve some of the best street food in all of Melbourne and this is the only time of the year when you will find all of them gathered together like this at the same place. They offer lunch as well as dinner and the food is just spectacular. Most of the trucks have heaters right outside and it really makes for a terrific match with some of the best comfort food you will have all winter.

All the trucks are parked in a circle with multiple picnic tables placed in the center. This helps in creating a terrific atmosphere of camaraderie and fun. Vendors from all over the city attend this event and you will certainly get an opportunity to feast on some of the most incredible street food in the world. And the best part is that you will have a choice of varied cuisines all in one large circle.

The food trucks certainly ran the show through part of May and June. The trucks operated Wednesday through Sunday from 12.30pm till 2.30pm for lunch and from 5.30pm to 8.30pm for dinner. This left more than enough time for avid foodies to get their fill of delicious street food. Different food trucks made their way to this park every day and you could easily keep a tab of who’s going to be there when using the park’s official Facebook and Twitter pages.

And do you know the best part about the park? Entry is free. That’s right, you don’t even have to pay a dollar in order to enjoy these delicacies from around the city. You will have to pay for what you eat though. There are quite a few food truck parks that have popped up all over the country and usually when there is an open air event with a lot of empty space, you can expect a food truck park somewhere in the vicinity. But this park is different from all those since it is set up all on its own.

And from the looks of its Facebook page, more than 17000 guests visited the park during its month long run. There’s no telling how many of these guests visited the park on more than one occasion although I’m pretty certain quite a few of them did. How many of the 5500 others invited were too lazy to rsvp to the event is unknown. And how many people showed up without the Facebook invitation is a mystery as well. But the event was a huge success. So it’s safe to say that this isn’t the last we’ll hear of the Richmond Food Truck Park.
