Anglesea Barracks Hobart

Anglesea Barracks is Australia’s oldest military complex that still houses the armed forces. It is recognised as one of the country’s most famous heritage precincts as it was first established in 1811 and served as the base for Tasmanian military control. In the current day, this heritage site acts as a tourist attraction because of its history that goes back a couple of centuries and has on display many older generation military equipment that is considered priceless in the modern era. This museum is entirely operated by volunteers and visitors can take a self-guided tour around the place any day of the week.
