The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens

Established in 1818, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens are located on the western banks of Derwent River in Hobart. Stretching over 13.5 hectares and showcasing more than 6500 species of flora, this place is ideal to visit with family as it offers vast stretches of Gardens and safe place for kids to play. As a nature lover, you can witness 400 unique species of Tasmanian plants, and also take a guided tour around the whole of the gardens to see the largest public conifer collection in the entire southern hemisphere. There is also a delightful Japanese garden accompanied by a stunning conservatory that will captivate your mind.

There are many other attractions here such as the Tasmanian Community Food Garden, Arthur Wall that was designed to provide the perfect environment to grow Tasmanian native plants, and attend the yearly Spring Community Festival that displays some of the most breathtaking tulips you’ll ever lay your eyes upon.
